Kim Patterson has been with Spectrum Health Systems as the Program Director of Recovery Exchange since March of 2023. Previously, Kim worked in the City of Lynn serving the homeless and people with substance use disorder for 25 years. She has worked with homeless adults, families, and teen mothers. Kim has also worked as a case manager with women in recovery in the City of Lynn. Kim is a woman in long term recovery and has the compassion, empathy, and understanding necessary to assist others on their road to recovery. She has a passion for helping others achieve independence and self–sufficiency. Kim has completed recovery coach training and recovery coach supervisor training to gain the tools necessary to better assist both those seeking recovery and staff seeking to provide services.

Maria Ruiz has been working for Spectrum Health Systems at the Recovery Exchange Peer Recovery Support Center since May 1, 2023. Maria started as a Peer Coordinator and was hired as Assistant Program Director on April 1, 2024. She has more than 28 years of experience working with individuals with substance use disorders and is a woman in long term recovery herself. Maria’s journey of recovery started June 21,1995. She has worked as Direct Care, Case Manager, Outreach, and Case Manager / Housing Specialist over the years. Maria’s passion is helping others in their journey of recovery whether it is their first time, or they have had several recurrences. Maria enjoys helping the recoveree, man or woman, to maintain recovery and change their lives.

Mark McCarthy has been the Community Engagement Specialist at the Recovery Exchange Peer Recovery Support Center since August 2023. Mark creates community partnerships to spread information about the center’s resources and collaborate with existing programs. Currently a student at Salem State University, Mark is 2 years away from graduating with a political science degree, continuing to pursue work in community engagement. Mark has completed the Recovery Coach Academy and is on the path to becoming a certified recovery coach. Mark’s background is in political campaigns, public health, and organizing in underserved communities. As a Lynn native, Mark has more than 8 years of experience in community organizing as a means to improve lives. He is passionate about recovery and providing access to resources for everyone, especially those who are often overlooked.

Ladonne Rogers has been a Peer Coordinator at the Recovery Exchange Peer Recovery Exchange since July 26, 2023. Ladonne has 8 years in his personal recovery and 20+ years of lived experience. Ladonne works with the members at the center to create a safe and supportive environment, assisting participants who might want to volunteer or work on their personal recovery. Ladonne is very passionate about his recovery and empowering new members to work their recovery and set goals to help them build a foundation for bettering their lives.

Tricia has been a part-time Peer Coordinator at the Recovery Exchange Peer Recovery Support Center in Lynn since August 2023. Tricia’s previous work experience was in the IT field as a Technology Analyst, since entering the corporate workforce out of High School. She has held many volunteer positions over the years, including PTO, Equine Therapeutic Leader, Easter Seals, and My Brother’s Table, to name a few. Tricia earned an Associate of Science Degree, Computer Applications from North Shore Community College. Tricia also has a multitude of technology certifications. Tricia is in the process of becoming a certified recovery coach through CCAR and has completed classes to be a SMART recovery facilitator.
